Willie Kocurek was an outstanding member of our community. He was known for his bright-red bow tie, being a proud the Lion, and loving golf. The Kocureks spent a lifetime in service to their community and have received recognition on numerous occasions. Willie was chosen as Austin's Most Outstanding Young Man in 1941, as Austin' Most Worthy Citizen in 1980 and in 1990 he and his son, Neal, were chosen as Austinites of the Year. Willie's proudest day came in 1986 when an Austin elementary school was named after him.
The proceeds from this golf tournament will go to our work with the Austin Lions Sight Conservation Committee and the Austin Independent School District Vision and Hearing Testing Service. With our support, local school children of low income families are provided eye examinations and eyeglasses. These children would otherwise be deprived of an opportunity to learn because of correctable vision impairment.
- If you would like to play in the tournament, you will be able to either register online or by mail. You can register a team of four or as a single player.
- We have various sponsorship opportunities. If your businesses is interested in showing your support of this great community service, sponsor signs will be available for placement at supported holes.
- Even if you may not be playing yourself you can contribute to this cause at our donation web page. You contribution to help kids see better is greatly appreciated.
When: Tuesday, April 26th, 2011. Tee time will be at 1:00 pm for the shotgun start. 
Where: At the Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin Texas.
What: This will be a scramble with trophies for first, second and third place as well as longest drive and closest to the pin.
Included with your registration is a casual dinner immediately following the tournament. At the dinner will be the presentation of the trophies and a raffle for some wonderful prizes. Each player gets one raffle ticket and of course you can buy more tickets. So plan to stay your round
