William A. McWhorter is the Military Historian and Oral History Historian for the Texas Historical Commission. 
Mr. McWhorter graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Marketing in 1998. He earned his Master of Arts in history with a focus in American military history. 
Mr. McWhorter heads up the Commission’s major initiative, Texas in World War II.
In addition to this key project, Mr. McWhorter handles all military history associated assignments; from the state’s war of independence to Operation Desert Storm.
