Judge Bob Perkins
on Early Austin History

March 1, 2018

Introduced by Lion Bill Martin

Senior District Judge Hon. Bob Perkins noted Historian and Central Texas Folktale Artist will bring us back to Austin in the late 1800's whose population back then was fewer than 20,000 citizens and was the scene of barroom brawls, saloons, cattle rustlers, gun fights and Indian raids. You will hear colorful stories of Texans who were scalped and lived to tell about it, how Wilbarger Creek got its name along with the community of Manchaca in South Austin. You will find his many stories about the history of our Capitol City both memorable, enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining.
