Afghanistan: The Soft Side of War
Past President Eddie Bloom
Introduction by Lion Patti Robinson

Eddie Bloom, AfghanistanFor the last two years Eddie has served as a Foreign Services Officer with USAID in Afghanistan. He is home on a leave and will present the cultural and development side of the war efforts there, focusing on his role as development advisor to the military, and as director of stabilization programs across the Western Region of the country.

Eddie will offer amazing pictures and unbelievable (but true) stories from the inside, while providing insight and discussion on why the soft side of our now 10-year war effort there is far more important, and far more likely to succeed, than is the military effort.

Featured Lunch Menu:

Charbroiled chicken with olive Madeira sauce, asparagus, and rice pilaf. Lunch also includes mixed field green salad, dinner rolls, and a delicious dessert offering. Vegetarian plate or Grilled chicken Caesar salad are alternative options as well.
