Meals on Wheels Lions Event

Come out in your jeans and Lions shirts and help sort food of pallets to be delivered to those in need in the community. Light lifting is involved but if you are not able to do so come out anyway to cheerlead or "supervise" ;-)

The Food Bank delivers around 3 to 4 pallets of food each month. All the food is shelf stable and typically includes canned fruits and vegetables, bags of beans, rice, and spaghetti, boxed milk; etc…

As the food items are all stacked on top of one another when they arrive on the pallets, the team needs to arrange the items by taking items off the pallets and stacking them separately in order to make each different item accessible when packing the sacks.

Also, trash is brought to the bin and the boxes the food items arrived in are broken-down and brought to the recycle bin by team members too.

Groups tend to take two to three hours to complete the task.

With 380 clients depending on this monthly bag of groceries, please only sign-on if you are certain you can make this kind of commitment.
