Max Moscoe of the Other Ones Foundation will be talking about TOOF's work at the Esperanza Community, a State-sanctioned homeless encampment in Austin. TOOF offers case management, work opportunities, and many more wraparound services on-site, and are currently working to build a transformational shelter complex with 200 individual shelter units. Learn about a revolutionary local effort to create a dignified and safe place for people experiencing homelessness, where people can gain traction and access the services they need to move off the streets and into a stable home!
About our Speaker:
Max Moscoe is originally from Portland, Oregon, and spent his early adult years touring as a musician and working in the restaurant industry. He was homeless on and off for a few years during this time, but eventually turned things around for himself with the help of his friends and family. At some point, he became acutely aware that his journey out of homelessness was easier than most because he was born into an upper middle class white family. After that experience, he felt called to help others who don't have the privilege and support that he did, and that led him to working with TOOF. Since starting with TOOF in 2018, Max has helped grow the nonprofit steadily by inviting in community members interested in collaborating with TOOF to find creative solutions to homelessness.
