Ali Khataw will tell us about his engagement in the community, love for Economic Development and inception of Photo-Philanthropy
About our Speaker:
Ali Khataw is the President & CEO of Encotech. He founded the firm in 1990 as a single person operation and has grown it to 30+ employees. He has 40 years of engineering experience, including extensive work in designing and managing numerous engineering projects, and is the project principal for company projects.
Ali is very active in the community, giving his time to more than a dozen non-profit and community organizations. He focuses his passion on bringing people from all walks of life together and giving back to the community. As a testament to his experience and his community involvement, Mr. Khataw was the recipient of the 2016 Engineer of the Year Award by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE), Travis Chapter, and in 2019 he was inducted to the University of Texas Cockrell School of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni. Last year, he served as the 2023 Chair of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, currently serving as Immediate Past Chair.
Trusted Board Advisor for the Community, serving on more than nine different boards of directors, including Austin Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Austin (past chairman), KUT, E3 Alliance (past chairman), Austin Ed Fund, Waterloo Greenway and Transit Forward just to name a few.
His love of travel and his passion for photography led him to Photo Philanthropy. He regularly donates his photographs to auctions supporting local charities. The concept of his photography website is to encourage charitable contributions. Ali donates all proceeds from his photography to organizations dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others.
