Introduced by Lion Mim Hruby

The HARRY RANSOM CENTER is a research library and museum dedicated to the exploration and sharing of ideas centered around extraordinary cultural collections relating to film, photography, literature, and the arts. Through exhibition and study, all are welcome—with free admission always—to an environment cultivated for exploration, reflection, and connectedness. Whether you plan to tour the galleries, enjoy a notable speaker in the theater, or conduct research in the Reading and Viewing Room, the Ransom Center's collections are a source of inspiration and available to all.

About our Speaker:

Maggie Gilburg joined the Harry Ransom Center in 2017 as director of development after serving for two years at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. She was the first director of development for the Texas Tribune and worked for six years to build a comprehensive fundraising program from the early start-up phase to what has become a thriving statewide news organization. She also worked for the Austin Museum of Art (now The Contemporary Austin) for five years in major gifts and membership. Prior to moving to Austin, she and her young family lived in Hong Kong for four years where her husband worked in the medical device industry. Early in her career, she served for six years as assistant to President Arthur R. Taylor of Muhlenberg College during a period of dynamic growth. She has a BA in English from Carleton College and an MBA/MA in Arts Administration from Southern Methodist University.
