This presentation explores the life and works of the Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist, Reuben L. Goldberg. Goldberg known worldwide for his crazy inventions was also a renowned artist, author and sculptor whose works spanned nearly 70 years. This colorful presentation highlights the collection of Austin lecturer and collector, Gregg Philipson. It is sure to be a fun and exciting look into the life of an iconic American figure. 

About our Speaker:

Mr. Philipson is a retired executive with over forty years of experience in the Biometric Authentication Security industry. He has traveled extensively working on security projects with U.S. Federal Agencies, State Law Enforcement Agencies and Foreign Government Agencies.

The Philipsons have assembled a large collection of artifacts including Jewish related military artifacts, Holocaust era material, WWII propaganda and much more.

Mr. Philipson lectures internationally on subjects including the Holocaust, Propaganda Art and Jewish Military History. The "Gregg and Michelle Philipson Collection and Archive" is regularly exhibited at major museums, universities, colleges, schools as well as U.S. military installations.

In 2012 former Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed Mr. Philipson a Commissioner to the Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission. He served under both former Texas Governor Rick Perry and current governor Greg Abbott. Philipson served for many years as an advisory board member at the Holocaust Museum Houston. He was the 2019 recipient of the Jewish War Veterans Wolfson Award for outstanding community relations.
