*Who

People who are blind or visually impaired from all over Austin, Round Rock, and neighboring cities along with their friends and families will be participating by catching public transportation and marching from the stops to TSBVI. Marching from the locations to TSBVI starts at 9am with speakers and fun activities for all provided when arriving on the TSBVI campus.

*Why do we celebrate WCD

As a community we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Blind Americans Equality Day Proclamation by the president of the United States acknowledging that people who are blind have abilities just like any other member of our society. Many of those attending will be wearing matching WCD T-shirts, this year’s t-shirt states in print and braille “I’ve got the world at the tip of my fingers.”

*Raising a child with a visual impairment and what WCD means to our family

*Reasons people with visual impairments use a white cane

*Types of Canes

*Rules for assisting a person with a visual impairment

*Mary Rose singing The Spinrockers song “I’ve Got this By Myself”
