The Peace Poster Contest is sponsored by the International Lions Club and is open for all Lions Clubs throughout the world.  The purpose is to encourage and motivate young people ages 11 to 13 to use their creativity to express what peace means to them via the creation of a poster.  The International Lions Club chooses a theme every year.  The two schools participating with our Club are the Gus Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy and the Bertha Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy, two schools which have participated in previous years.  The judging will be done on Friday, November 11, and the names of the top two winners, along with photos of their posters will be announced at the November 17 meeting. First place winners receive $100 and second place winners receive $50, funds from you, the generous Austin Founder Lions.
