CPR: Are You Prepared?

Patti will help define the difference between a heart attack and cardiac arrest and go through the procedure for providing CPR and using a defibrillator. Lions will have the opportunity to practice compression using CPR mannequin with a depth clicker and practice the use of a training model AED which does not deliver a shock. If possible we will turn on and listen to the AED that is located in the Outreach Department Conference Room.

About our Speaker:

Our own Lion Patti Robinson has been an American Heart Association CPR instructor for almost 30 years. She is a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Fine Arts. Although currently retired from Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, while working she obtained many certifications such as Foundations in Visual Impairments 135 hours of study, Instructor certification in The Mandt System a positive behavior support training program, Instructor in Defensive Driving, Instructor in AHA First Aid and CPR. She was President of the Austin Founder Lions Club in 2004, A recipient of MD2 Leo Club Advisor of the year 2012-2013 and a Jack Wiech Fellow. Patti is married to Wes Phillips who teaches golf at Jimmy Clay Golf Course. Together they have 3 kitties: Bart, Dot, and Daisy
