You will be entertained with a presentation and video clips of the web-based series The Pantsless Detective. This wacky, award-winning short-form comedy series is a hard-boiled film noir spoof, a layered collection of visual and spoken puns, wordplay, and absurdity. The plot follows the plucky Pantsless Detective, Richard Panceliss; his intrepid intern, Smitty; and the truehearted Temperance Friday as they are sucked into a tangled web by client Ephemeral “Phem” Faye Tall, old flame Constance Trustworthy, underworld crime boss Bruno Weisenheimer, and Dick's rival, Sgt. Williamclub McAdams. Individual seasons have received awards from festivals around the world, including the LA Webfest, the Miami Web Fest, Rio Web Fest, Seoul Web Fest, Tuscany Web Fest, Apulia WebFest, Rome Web Awards, Webdance Film Festival, Wendie Webfest Hamburg, and the Ozark Mountain Web Fest. The series has awards from the Marseille Web Fest, Melbourne Web Fest, Minnesota Web Fest, and Sicily Web Fest. It is a popular play on Seekatv.com, and the Seekatv app on Roku and Apple TV. Austin-based duo Dipu Bhattacharya (l) and Tom Chamberlain (r) are the two-headed monster that created, produced, and play in the comedy noir spoof The Pantsless Detective. A true collaboration, each has written and directed two of the four seasons, and both produce, winning the prestigious Michael Ajakwe Jr. Achievement Award at both Melbourne Web Fest and Marseille Web Fest.
Bhattacharya earned numerous nominations and wins for best screenplay, including the 2016 Austin Web Fest and the 2016 Bilbao Web Fest. In 2017, he won the directing and screenplay award from the World Web Awards, and has received multiple nominations for his portrayal of Smitty. In addition, he has worked on independent film projects, such as the documentary Six Man, Texas; comedy feature One Eye Peeled; and spoof short Requiem for a Lightweight.
Chamberlain has appeared in many plays, films, and TV shows, including guest starring on Friday Night Lights, and, ofcourse, as Richard Panceliss. He's received multiple nominations and a Best Director award from the 2018 New Jersey Web Fest and a Best Screenplay award from the 2018 Seoul Web Fest. He won Best Actor at the 2014 Miami Web Fest, 2015 Bilbao Web Fest, 2016 Dublin Web Fest, and 2018 Rome Web Awards.

Starting at 11:45 a.m., a BBQ buffet, consisting of choice of meats (brisket, pork ribs, smoked turkey breast, sausage), choice of sides (beans, potato salad, coleslaw), drinks (water or unsweetened ice tea), and a dessert (banana pudding) will be available in the Crockett Room. Cost of the lunch is $14.00 per person. Please register online before 5 pm on Tuesday. You can pay online or at the meeting, but it is much preferred that you pay online to reduce handling of cash.
