AISD HEAD START PROGRAM

Ashlee Johnson
Head Start Administrator, AISD

Head Start is a Federal program that promotes the school readiness of children from birth to age five from low income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development.  The curriculum is designed to build important skills that impact a child’s future success; to create activities that highlight group problem solving; and to promote leadership and self-regulation skills.

Under this program, the Founder Lions Club works with the following eight AISD Head Start PreK-3/4 elementary schools:

Oak Springs                                        Langford

Guerrero-Thompson                            Rodriguez

Sanchez                                               Uphaus Center

Jordan                                                 Houston
