The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center has grown from a small non-profit organization located on Austin’s eastside to an internationally renowned university botanic garden. Named the state botanic garden and arboretum in 2017 by the Texas Legislature, the Wildflower Center promotes its mission to inspire the conservation of native plants through its gardens, education programs, events, and science and conservation efforts. You’ll learn about the evolution of the Wildflower Center, about its current efforts, and plans for resiliency and change as the Center evolves in one of America’s fastest growing cities.
