Come and celebrate the Changing of the Guard for the oldest Lions Club in the world. Outgoing Club President Ken Crone will recap the accomplishments of the club over the past year, incoming President Lion Mac Ragsdale will offer his vision and goals for the upcoming year, and the new Officers and Directors of the club will be installed. The installation ceremonies will be conducted by PDG Tonja Wienck, whose son Evan was a longtime member of our club.
About our Speaker:
A Lion since 2001, Past District Governor Tonja Wienck began her journey with Lions as a school LEO Club sponsor in Kansas. A lifelong volunteer, she found that Lions was the perfect match for her passion for service and community.
In Kansas, Tonja held multiple leadership roles, including Club President, Zone Chair, and District Governor. Among her most cherished achievements is her work with LEOs—founding and sponsoring her Lions club’s LEO Club and serving as District and State LEO Chair for many years.
Since relocating to Texas in 2011, Tonja has been an active member of the Cedar Park/Leander Lions Club and currently serves as Club Secretary.
Tonja’s favorite Lions-related charity is Leader Dogs for the Blind. She proudly co-chaired a fundraising gala benefiting the organization. She also oversees her club’s Sight for Kids program, which arranges free vision exams for local children in need, and enjoys volunteering at Texas Lions Camp with her club each summer.
Passionate about leadership development, Tonja has provided training to Lions at all levels on a wide range of topics. She also participated in and served as a staff member for the Great Plains Lions Leadership Institute.
Service has always been a family activity for Tonja, her husband David—an active Lion—and their son Evan, who has participated in many Lions projects and activities since early childhood, eventually becoming both a LEO and a Lion himself. Their daughter and two grandchildren also contribute to service projects and activities.
In her “free” time, Tonja is a middle school counselor in Leander ISD and has proudly served as a public middle school educator for 35 years. In addition to volunteering with her club, Tonja loves spending time with her family, traveling, and working with the Heart of Texas Lab Rescue.
